Question: What
mortgage Classes Do You Recommend Taking to Become a FHA Mortgage
Underwriter, Processor or Originator?
Answer: This answer really depends on
your past experience level. For example, if you do not have any prior
mortgage experience, then we would recommend taking our comprehensive 3-day
class to learn how to process FHA/VA government
loans: FHA Training - "Processing" or you can take FHA Training - "Underwriting".
This is a great addition to
your mortgage underwriter or loan processor career enhancement because
the government recently passed an FHA Reform Bill which means more
and more brokers are starting to push FHA loan programs to borrowers
with low-to moderate income levels.
To gain a better understanding of the underwriting process, we offer Underwriter 101 - "The Essentials". This will provide you with a
deep understanding of underwriting principles as well as help
eliminate files from getting bounced back from the underwriter.
On the other hand, if you
already have at least 3-5 years of prior mortgage underwriting
experience, then we would recommend taking our 3-day class: Mortgage
Underwriting - "Advanced Lessons".
Finally, if you would like to
gain an understanding of loan processing, then we recommend our 3-day
class: Loan Processing 101 - "The Basics".
This will teach you what a
typical loan processor does on a daily basis, from A to Z!
From here, you can take our 3-day class: Advanced
Loan Processing - "Real World". This class will expand on
your existing loan processing knowledge, and will provide more
"real world" loan processor examples as well as tricks on how to
increase closing ratios while decreasing loan fall outs.
